On June 11, with the last skip of ores successfully unloaded into the surface ore silo, the commissioning of the main shaft and relevant works at Musonoi project was successfully achieved over 4 years and 5 months ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for production launch and ramp up, highly recognized by the Owner.
The Musoni shaft project is the first comprehensive whole series project independently undertaken by JCHX in Africa, covering shaft sinking & lining & installation, ore pass system establishment and auxiliary works construction, drainage system establishment, ultra-large headgear installation, hoist room construction, winder and substation installation, automatic control system installation, integrated surface ore silo construction and installation, etc.
The installation of the hoist system and the construction of the auxiliary works involve two sets of hoisting systems (main and auxiliary), including foundation construction, headgear installation, construction of the hoist rooms, equipment and electronic devices installation and the surface ore silo construction. The headgear is 69m high, with a dead weight of about 2000t. The support frame of the main and auxiliary hoists weighs about 1300t. About 12405 m3 of earth and stone were excavated and filled, 6,149 m3 of reinforced concrete were poured, and 592t of mining machine were installed. Besides, substations and control rooms were established respectively for the main and auxiliary hoists, and a substation & control room was established for the 580mL belt conveyor. The work quantity of the ore pass system and relevant works is about 810m, including full section lining of the Φ5m main ore pass at 400-540mL and 540-580mL by manganese steel plate and relevant unloading system, 580mL belt drive, belt unloading system, metering funnel system, bypass works, 640mL fine ore recovery system, shaft bottom drainage system, 640-540mL man pass raise and other works.
To ensure the project quality and progress, JCHX Mining and JCHX Overseas Division prepared a professional construction team for the project according to the construction characteristics of different stages of the project, coordinated the internal and external resources and materials supply, scientifically formulated production and operation indicators, and kept optimizing the performance evaluation and incentive measures. For the critical and challenging works, JCHX particularly sent technical experts to the site to constantly discuss, adjust and optimize the construction plan.
